Confronting the Epidemic of Stress and Anxiety in Girls

Celebrated clinical psychologist and best-selling author Dr. Lisa Damour joined us virtually on Wednesday, May 1 to discuss the rising tide of stress and anxiety among teen girls. She explained the surprising and underappreciated value of stress and anxiety as well as offered solutions to the tensions that take hold in the many facets of girls’ lives: their interactions at home, pressures at school, social anxiety when among other girls and among boys, and social media. Directly following Dr. Damour's presentation, we hosted a live panel of local mental health experts who will engage in dialogue and a Q & A session.

This event was free of charge and professional development hours were offered for those who hold Illinois Professional Educator Licenses. *1.5 PD Hours for Illinois Professional Educators: Teachers, School Support Personnel & Administrators*
