Jocelyn Guerra ~ My Senior Story
If you are struggling to adapt to an all-female high school, you are not alone. My dad had chosen my highschool, and I had a hard time adjusting to this all-girls environment. I didn’t want to accept that this was where I would spend my entire highschool journey.
It wasn’t until the very end of my senior year that I saw the bigger picture: even though I wasn’t in favor of going to a single-gender school, there is no denying that Trinity offers the best education you can receive. Because I attended Trinity, my knowledge has expanded, my maturity has prospered, and I’ve become a well-rounded woman. Trinity not only offers students an excellent education, but constantly makes sure that students are being given the support they need, emotionally and spiritually. Faculty and staff constantly push students to lead with confidence, integrity, and pride, and we are always encouraged to make the right decisions for the greater good. Although it sounds repetitive, I can really say Trinity is the definition of an institution that truly values it’s students. I’m so blessed to have had the opportunity to be involved in a community where my voice mattered, my mental health was cared for, and my academics were given priority. Not many teens have the opportunity to attend a school like this, but because of Trinity, I have gained the qualities essential to help me excel as a college student and gained a beautiful friendship.
Moving forward, I will be attending Northern Illinois University. I will be majoring in psychology and minoring in nonprofit and NGO studies, I hope to become a child abuse counselor, and hopefully have my own non-profit organization for homeless people.
