Allie Davis ~ My Senior Story

One of the very first statements that I heard during my orientation at Trinity was that “Trinity will become your second home”. As a nervous 14 yr old who had not made a friend yet, this reassurance from Mrs. Bedell was extremely comforting. Four years later as I reflect on all my experiences, my feelings, and the relationships that I have made, I can say this statement was indeed true. Trinity has become a second home for many reasons. Trinity is the place where I have met my truest friends. Not only do I love the friends that I have made in the past 4 years because of the infinite number of laughs we have shared but because I have we have been able to grow together so much. The girls that I met in August of 2016 have become family. This supportive and loving attitude is not exclusive to the students but embodied by the staff. My teachers have been a huge support, have encouraged me to step into leadership roles, and fostered my love of learning. Freshman year the announcement of an upcoming Socratic Seminar would have been nerve-racking. Today, as a senior, discussion-based classes are by far my favorite class to take. This attitude would not have been possible without the exuberant attitude regarding learning displayed by my teachers. Lastly, Trinity has fostered my love of leadership. Without programs like Ambassadors Club, Mazzuhelli Mentors, and Pep Club, I would have never realized my desire to lead.
During the summer of 2016, I was not expecting my high school to have such a large impact. Today I can say that it has become a very significant part of my life. Trinity isn’t just my second home because I spend a significant amount of time there. It has become my second home because I look forward to going to school, even when I go back a week earlier to participate as a Mazzucchelli Mentor. I looked forward to laughing with my friends, being surrounded by supportive attitudes, and growing my education. It is crazy to think that my days of going back to Trinity are so limited at this time, but I am excited for what’s to come. Trinity has taught me that it is important to leave to embark on my future successes, although leaving will be difficult. Thankfully, I know I can come back home to share my new experiences with my entire Trinity family.
