Participants will work through cognitive-behavioral tasks related to learning and memory. They will experience the full arc of the scientific process as they form questions, collect data, analyze results, and draw conclusions. Going beyond the abstract theories, this course allows participants to see how researchers study the human mind on topics that are directly relevant to participants’ lives.
During the course, participants will get to know Dominican University’s Psychology Department, accessing cutting-edge research equipment (including the department’s new EEG system used to study brain activity!).
Participants will come away with a deeper appreciation for how psychological science works, what it takes to rigorously study behavior, and how lab findings can connect to our everyday lives.
