This course is designed to give participants an authentic introduction to the world of healthcare. Through guided instruction, participants will explore the foundations of pathophysiology, learning how common diseases affect the human body and how clinicians think through diagnosis and care.
Each day combines expert instruction with simulation lab time, where participants practice essential patient assessment skills in a safe, supportive environment. Activities include listening to heart and lunch sounds, recognizing cardiac rhythms, locating peripheral pulses, and practicing selected procedures such as nasogastric tube insertion on simulation models.
By the end of the week, participants will have a deeper insight into healthcare careers, as well as the foundational skills that clinicians rely on every day, and the confidence that comes with hands-on experience.
