Bel Coro is a full credit class that meets within the school day. It is open to all students at Trinity High School each block. Students perform in at least two liturgy services and at one of the fine arts programs either in December or May. Girls learn how to sight read music, basic music theory and vocal performance technique.
Advanced Bel Coro is an advanced class that receives a full credit and meets within the school day, for students who have taken Bel Coro. It requires previous choral experience and the permission of the teacher. In class, students continue to study sight-reading, music theory and perform in at least two liturgy services and at one of the fine arts programs either in December or May.
La Trinita’ choir is a beginning auditioned choir that prepares choral singers for more advanced opportunities. Students meet during the school day, once a week, for rehearsals. The choir performs at the fine arts programs twice a year and many Trinity High School events.
A Cappella Choir is an auditioned advanced chorus which meets throughout the entire year during the school day and after school. The choir performs a large variety of repertoire and musical styles. Annual performances include the Christmas Fine Arts Evening, the Spring Fine Arts Evening, and all Trinity liturgies and prayer services. Frequent performance opportunities, such as caroling at the Art Institute of Chicago and other venues in the surrounding city and suburbs allow students to share their talents with the outside community. Field trips and excursions include a recent Toronto tour and in 2013, an Ireland tour.
Le Ragazze is a selective, auditioned, small group of advanced vocal students who are members of A Cappella choir and commit to additional performances within the Trinity community and the surrounding community outside of the school day. Le Ragazze rehearses twice a week or more as needed. Independent vocal singing and solo opportunities are an important aspect of the ensemble.
Student Accompanist – advanced piano students may audition to be the accompanist for the choirs.
