Cecilia Growney ~ My Senior Story
Trinity has been special to me because these last four years, I have been living the moments that I will spend the rest of my life trying to remember. Trinity has been special because not every moment has been perfect, it's been special because it's temporary. Trinity has been four years of becoming someone when I felt like a no one. Trinity is so much more than just a building on the corner of Division and Lathrop; it's the magic that happens inside these walls that makes it special.
My message for Future Blazers is that the hardest part about high school, is that while you're living it, you don't realize that it's happening. The "lasts" come quietly: last first day, last choir concert, last bows on stage, last Hispanic Heritage month assembly, last time your entire grade will be together at the same time. No one announces when something as ordinary as high school becomes something unforgettable. One day, you'll miss the things you never thought mattered: the Tuesday morning Starbucks runs, the walks to Panera where you talk about how much you're going to study, and then just end up laughing the entire time, the excitement of Just Because games, singing the Alma Mater way too quickly for the four-count you're given. My biggest piece of advice is to live every moment, put your phone down for a second (unless you're taking an "Almost Friday" picture), and feel all of the things it means to be a Blazer: you don't realize how quickly you'll miss it once it's gone.
