Podcasting for Beginners
Participants will choose from one of three podcasting formats depending on the type of story they most want to tell: Narrative, Interview, or Informational. Participants will develop their concept, write and refine their script, and then bring it to life in the recording studio using Audacity (a free, industry-accessible audio editing tool).
The week is structured to move participants through each phrase of production at a manageable pace: Monday introduces the recording studio and podcast examples before participants begin scripting; Tuesday focuses on completing scripts and starting to record; Wednesday is dedicated to finishing recordings and beginning the edit; and Thursday wraps up editing and ends with a sharing session.
By the end of the week, participants will have a complete, edited podcast episode created from scratch, and a solid foundation in audio production they can keep building on!
