TRINITY ANNOUNCES A NEW PRESIDENT

The Board of Directors of Trinity High School is excited to announce the appointment of Laura M. Curley as Trinity High School’s President effective November 1, 2019.  Ms. Curley comes to Trinity from Notre Dame College Prep, Niles, Illinois, where she has served as Managing Director of Institutional Advancement since 2015.  Prior to her time at Notre Dame College Prep, she served as the Director of Advancement at Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart from 2010 to 2015.

Ms. Curley assumes the Presidency of Trinity High School following the interim presidency of Sister Judith Schaefer, O.P.  Sister Judith came to Trinity in March 2019 and has worked with the Board of Directors to secure a long-term president for Trinity. Sr. Judith believes that “Laura Curley is the right person to lead Trinity at this moment in history. Her belief in the mission, as well as her strong administrative skills and financial acumen, will serve Trinity well as it continues to thrive and grow.”

“I am honored to be given the opportunity to lead a school that has made such a significant difference in the lives of so many young women for more than a century,” states Laura Curley. “I am excited to get to know the young women who come to Trinity every day and look forward to working alongside the many dedicated adults who are changing the lives of Trinity students.”

Ms. Curley is a product of an all-girls Catholic high school, graduating from Saint Louise de Marillac High School of Northfield, Illinois. From there, she pursued a BA in English at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois, and a Master’s in Business Administration at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago.

The appointment of the new President comes after a thorough and comprehensive search process conducted by a sub-committee of the Board of Directors that was chaired by Sr. Judith Schaefer and Colleen Stone Funda ’86, Trinity Board Chair. The Committee reviewed over 75 applications and interviewed 7 semi-finalists, before voting on 3 finalists. The Committee and Board are particularly grateful to Matt McGreal, a Trinity Dad and professional search consultant, for his generous gift of time and talent in the search process.

Ms. Curley was introduced to the faculty, staff, and students today, Wednesday, Oct. 9, and was welcomed by Sr. Judith and Michael Nelson, Vice-Chair of the Board. Ms. Curley will begin her Presidency formally on November 1, 2019, with an installation ceremony at the Founder’s Day Liturgy.  Sr. Colleen Settles, O.P., Corporate Chair for the Sinsinawa Dominican Congregation, will be present to officiate at the missioning ceremony. In the weeks ahead, the Board of Directors will provide a variety of opportunities for all parents and friends of Trinity to meet and welcome our new President.

I invite you to celebrate with us and extend a warm Blazer welcome to our new President, Laura M. Curley.

Respectfully,

Colleen Stone Funda ‘86
Chair, Trinity Board of Directors
