Karina Cabrera ~ My Senior Story

Trinity High School is special to me because after my previous high school, Guerin Prep, was permanently closed, I was faced with the challenge of having to choose a new high school. I was also faced with the challenge of having to transfer in the middle of a pandemic. This was extremely hard for me as I would miss all the friends I had made while at Guerin. However, Trinity made the transfer easy for me as everyone was extremely welcoming and helped me with whatever I needed. I must admit, I was hesitant at first, but I soon made many new friends (and kept some old ones who transferred with me), met amazing teachers, and made new memories that will last a lifetime. Coming from a co-ed high school to an all-girls high school was definitely a big change, but it was one of the greatest changes that made my high school experience all the better. Trinity taught me the great power women have in this world and how I, as a young lady, will contribute to society. Trinity taught me that my voice is just as valid as anyone else's and that I am capable of making great change. I am truly grateful for all of the valuable lessons I have learned while being a Blazer these past few years which have shaped me into the person I am today.

My favorite Trinity tradition is Just Because Games because everyone goes all out as they cheer for their fellow classmates.

My message for future Trinity Blazers is to be yourself and be proud of who you are because you are capable of achieving any and all things.

I was accepted into several colleges, but I then went on a college visit to Augustana College where I fell in love with the campus. Everyone was friendly and very welcoming. I remember having the biggest smile on my face the whole visit. I am proud that I will attend Augustana College where l will be majoring in mechanical engineering.
