As the first from an immigrant family to attend college, my parents and my extended family held high expectations when it came to school. My family has always told me I would be setting an example for my younger cousins. Over the years I never knew where I wanted to attend college, but I knew I wanted to head far out to a new place. It continued with my senior year being very hectic as to decide where I wanted to go, and it was all new for my family. Now in the fall I will attend Penn State University which is quite a long distance from my huge family in Chicago. Of course, I’m going to be sad when I leave my huge family, but I’m excited for what the future holds.
I couldn’t be more excited, prepared, and confident to leave for the next part of my life.
