My career goal is to become a pediatric orthopedic surgeon at Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital. Getting accepted to Loyola University Chicago was one of the best moments of my senior year because it means I am one closer to fulfilling my dream. Loyola is one of the best undergraduate institutions in the Midwest, and they work closely with Lurie’s so I am able to be exposed to the unique environment. The medical field, especially orthopedics, is dominated by males. However, I have Trinity to thank for helping me develop and practice my confidence everyday. Being a Full IB Diploma Candidate also challenged me to think more critically and prepared me well for the college environment. The rigor of the program is becoming well known by colleges, and students are being recognized for the work and effort they’ve put into it. When listening to college plans of my fellow seniors, I notice that many are looking into professions that were once considered not applicable for females. I believe, and many agree, that going to an all-girls high school helped us become more proud of who we are and more daring with our choices. Choosing Trinity was one of the best decisions I have made in my life so far because I was able to discover who I truly am and who I want to be.
