Counseling/College Planning

Guidance services constitute an integral part of Trinity’s educational program. Three professional school counselors are available to help students with academic, personal, vocational, disciplinary and social concerns.

The counselors meet with each student several times per year. This includes individual, small group and class meetings. Students may request additional appointments as they wish. During these meetings the counselors assist students in the following areas:

  1. Assessment of current situation: general well-being, academic progress, co-curricular participation, social issues
  2. Course selection and its rationale
  3. College  information
  4. Study skills development
  5. Referral information when necessary

Seeing a Counselor

Students may request an appointment to see their counselor. Appointment request slips are available in the guidance reception area. To make an appointment, students leave their name, the date and select their counselor’s name from the list. Counselors are available for student walk-ins at times they do not have previously scheduled appointments, during 3A and 3B, and from 8:00-9:30AM on most late start days.
