Trinity High School breaks ground
Academic Competitions Not Just for Boys Anymore

Congratulations to all ten Chicago land area grade schools that participated in Trinity High School’s Junior High Academic Bowl on Saturday October 13, 2007.
Trinity High School’s fifth annual Academic Bowl for 7th & 8th grade girls was held on October 13, 2007. It was a wonderful opportunity for girls to exhibit their knowledge, build self-esteem, interact with a diverse peer group, and compete in a nurturing environment. Subjects covered in the bowl included Math, Geography, Social Science, English, Science and Pop Culture. Each school was invited to bring a maximum of eight girls, and within each team the girls took turns competing. Schools were divided into two divisions based on total enrollment; larger schools competed in the Blue Division and smaller schools competed in the White Division.

St. John of the Cross of Western Springs, and St. Vincent Ferrer of River Forest, IL, tied for 1st Place during the initial five rounds, qualifing them for the championship round, where St. John won the competion!
