Trinity alumna Pamela Polvere, a kitchen and bath designer and owner of Pamela Polvere Designs in Elmwood Park has teamed up with Trinity's National Art Honor Society members and moderator Kelly Banos- Parra to give Trinity's top art students an opportunity to apply their design skills in the real world, while raising awareness of environmental issues. The students were comissioned to create a banner with the slogan, Green is the New Black" for the company. The proposed banners by Trinity students will be displayed in the auditorium foyer on Earth Day, April 22. During the reception, which will be held during the lunch hour, Polvere will announce her selection of the banner that will become part of her green display.
"It just feels right," said Polvere. "We are helping each other- they are working on a project that is green, and I am showcasing their work in my showroom."
"This fits right in with the mission of the Society,” said Banos-Parra. “We thought it really was a great match.”
“It’s been a great opportunity for students to use art to enhance the idea of tolerance and of working together to build a much better community and a much better world through the talents that they have,” Banos-Parra added. “It’s been great to see the girls helping promote among their peers the idea of being concerned for the status of our world, and for what they will be inheriting and the issues that they will have to deal with.”
