| "Women
in Engineering and Technology"
On
Wednesday, March 13, 2002, Trinity held its ninth annual Women
In Leadership Day. This year's event was designed to acquaint
students with women leaders in the field of engineering and
technology. As an all-girl school, Trinity was happy to feature
these talented women as role models. Top women in their fields
were invited to come and speak to current Trinity students
and faculty. The day began with keynote speaker, Linda Salchenberger,
Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs at Loyola University-Chicago.
There were 21 distinguished guests which included graphic
designers, bio-medical engineers, air line pilots and business
entrepreneurs. We are proud that eleven of our speakers are
alumnae of Trinity.
Women
In Leadership Day is more than a "career day." It
was created to inform Trinity students on a personal level
of the opportunities available for women in the many fields
of engineering and technology. The interaction with accomplished
women also serves to educate Trinity students about the progress
and achievements of women in leadership positions and to hear
their success stories. Trinity holds this event in March since
it is designated, Women's History Month.
