Mrs. Behren has been a part of the Trinity Counseling Department since 2010. She is the Department Chair and works with freshman, sophomore and junior students. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Nationally Certified Counselor. She is a graduate of the Academy for College Admission Counseling as well as holds certifications as a Bully Prevention Specialist, Legal and Ethics Specialist, and School Counseling Leadership Specialist. She is a member of the Directors of Counseling and Student Services of Suburban Chicago the American School Counselor Association, the Illinois Counseling Association, and the Illinois School Counseling Association.
Mrs. Behren earned both her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology and Master of Science degree in Education and Counseling from Northern Illinois University. Her past professional experiences include counseling students grades 6 through 12, as well as at the post-secondary level. She is vested in her students’ success and has an undying desire to provide them with a meaningful and purposeful school experience that promotes achievement both academically and personally now and in the future.
She has enjoyed being a part of Trinity’s student activities as the Sophomore Class Moderator since 2010.
Mrs. Behren was named the 2015 Illinois High School Counselor of the Year by the Illinois School Counseling Association.
