Profile
Trinity High School, founded in 1918 by the Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa Wisconsin, is a Catholic college-preparatory high school for young women. Trinity has earned an excellent reputation as a premier high school with a strong commitment to educating young women and preparing them for the future: intellectually, spiritually, socially, and morally. For over 80 years Trinity has been a cornerstone of the Oak Park-River Forest community. The past two school years saw Trinity's student body give an average of over 16,000 hours of community service to the community.
Graduation Rate
Trinity's mission is to prepare young women to move confidently to the next step in their education process. In 2008 100% of our graduates are accepted into the college or university of their choice and over 54% received academic scholarships totalling over $4.4 million dollars. This extraordinary success rate is due to a rich curriculum incorporating the latest teaching techniques with the added advantage of a single-gender atmosphere.
Accreditation
Trinity is one of twenty-five schools in Illinois accredited as a college preparatory high school by the North Central Association of Secondary Schools and by the State of Illinois.
Additionally, Trinity is officially affiliated with the International Baccalaureate Organization in Geneva, Switzerland, the premier global honors program. One hundred and twenty nine countries are home to approximately 2,401 authorized IB world schools at this time. Over 180 nationalities are represented in the organization worldwide. There are 749 Diploma schools in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean.
Trinity boasts a 90% passing rate compared to the 80% global success rate. Fifty-five percent of the total student body is currently taking IB courses.
Single-Gender School
Trinity is proud to offer young women the option of a single-gender education. This environment gives young women the competitive edge they need to succeed in college as well as in the work force. Trinity's young women perceive themselves as worthy, esteemed and confident persons. Young women in a single-gender school take math and science courses at double the national average. Trinity students have the potential to graduate with 5.5 credits in math and 6.25 credits in science. Trinity is a trailblazing Catholic school as the first to adopt the highly successful block scheduling program. Due to the structure of a blocked schedule, Trinity students graduate with a minimum of 28 credit hours.
