Service as Part of the Community

Trinity has a tradition and a Dominican mission to community service. Serving others provides our students with a rewarding and transformative experience and plays an integral role in the education of all Trinity students.

Each student is required to do a minimum of ten hours of service each year and each club also completes a service project each year. Many students go far beyond what is expected and get into a spirit of service. Freshman and sophomore students are involved in the Dominican Corner Stone: Foundation of Service Program. These first two years, student will focus on learning to serve their communities beginning with those closest to home. As students progress into junior and senior years they become part of the Dominican Capstone: Compassion in Action Program. Juniors and seniors will move outside their immediate community and provide direct service to those in the greater society.

Students enrolled in the International Baccalaureate Program must perform 150 hours of service over their junior and senior years. This service component is called "CAS" -- Creativity, Action and Service. Students must create and implement a service project.

Everything a student needs to receive credit for her service hours is listed below. Including the criteria for meeting the service requirement found in “What is Service?” Students must complete a Community Service Approval Form, prior to completing their hours. Completion of service house is required for third block exams and participation at Junior and Senior Prom and/or graduation.
