SADD Club Holds a Mime Day
On Tuesday, April 20th the Trinity community welcomes Chris Sandy to speak on the consequences of alcohol abuse and driving under the influence. On April 11, 2002, Chris Sandy consumed several mixed drinks and took the lives of 2 people when the car he was driving 77 mph (in a 35 mph zone) crashed into a car occupied by an elderly couple. He was sentenced to 13 years in prison. Chris has since been released and is now serving a 17 year probation sentence.
In conjunction with Chris’s presentation, the Trinity SADD Club and Guidance Department have planned a “Mime Day” for Tuesday. On this day, 17 Trinity students will dress in all black and will be silent for the entire day. Each student dressed in black is imagined to have been killed in an alcohol-related accident and classmates are forced to think about what life would be like without them.
