"Dividends for Life" Essay Contest

Congratulations to senior, Margaret Miller, the first place winner in the “Dividends for Life” Essay Contest opened to high school seniors currently enrolled in a Catholic High School in Cook County or Lake Counties, Illinois.
Margaret was awarded $1,000 and her essay will be published in an upcoming issue of the Catholic New World. The three top winners will also receive a one-year complimentary subscription to the Catholic New World.
The essay question was, Explain your understanding of the relationship between protecting God’s creation and peace. How has your education in the Catholic faith informed your understanding of humanity’s responsibility to the environment, which will provide “Dividends for Life”?
The contest was sponsored by the Archdiocese of Chicago Office of Catholic Schools of Cook and Lake Counties in partnership with Catholic New World, the newspaper for the Archdiocese of Chicago.
